As we begin Holy Week, we will begin by reflecting on His story in song as the Sanctuary Choir presents the cantata "The Love of Jesus" during morning worship. This cantata was sung several years ago and was a favorite to many so the choir is sharing this meaningful message in song again this year. If you would like to join them, choir rehearsals are each Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m.
April 5th:
A tradition at Preakness is to spend Maundy Thursday walking through a labyrinth and reflecting on the last days of Our Lord. The labyrinth will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. this year and everyone is then welcomed to a meaningful service of reflection at 7:30 p.m. at the Wayne Presbyterian Church.
April 6th:
On Good Friday, there are several opportunities to reflect on the last hours of our Lord before His death on the cross. At 12:30 p.m., all are welcomed to join us at Preakness Reformed Church on Church Lane as we remember through scripture and song and/or worship with us at 8:00 p.m. as we go from light to darkness and recall His last moments in silence and reflection.
April 7th:
Another tradition at Preakness is opening our doors and hearts to the children of not only our congregation but our community for our annual Easter Egg Hunt, beginning at 10 a.m. With eggs filled with candy and Easter memories; the reading of the story of Jesus and donuts and juice, be part of an exciting hour as over 1500 eggs are hunted in seconds by children 3 years old through 5th grade.
April 8th:
Easter morning begins with our Sunrise Service on the patio, weather permitting, at 6:30 a.m. As the sun rises and we warm our body with coffee (and donuts), our hearts rejoice and celebrate and are filled with the warmth of the love of a Risen Lord.
At 10:30 a.m., we return for our Easter Morning Worship, as we again celebrate our Risen Lord through special music, scripture and a message to last a lifetime. As we conclude our service with the Hallelujah Chorus, together we rejoice as one!
Cozy Mountain Lodge Women's Retreat - June 1st to 3rd
Our women’s retreat this year will be held at Spruce Lake Retreat, 5389 Route 447, Canadensis, PA, located in the beautiful Poconos. It is off Route 80 West, off 209 and about an hour and 45 minutes away.
We will be staying at the Hemlock Hall, a lodge just for US with a lounge and meeting room all included. Rooms can hold up to 4 each and include one double/queen bed and 2 bunks each. All linens and towels will be included, along with 5 buffet meals. The dining room is very close to our lodge.
Our theme will be “Cozy Mountain Lodge”, where women find shelter in God and friendship. We will explore the Bible account of Ruth and Naomi through a variety of activities, worship, discussion, study, quiet reflection and Christian service. Of course, Saturday afternoon is “free time” to explore the new retreat center or head to the outlets, etc.
Cost will be $190 which will include lodging, all meals and all retreat materials. Although the cost is higher this year, last year several of our meals were not included or the retreat costs so the cost had to be adjusted this year. A deposit of $25 will hold your place! Please make your check to PBC Youth and give to Pastor Jane by the end of March.

F.O.C.U.S.
Studying the Lord’s word is very instrumental in our daily walk. Did you know that there is a study group for everyone? The Adult FOCUS group meets each Sunday morning in Kenyon Hall (September through June) at 9:15 a.m. and is led by Ellis Marples.
Children meet during morning worship after the Children's Message with our dedicated teachers. Our Youth FOCUS also meets each Sunday morning (September through June) beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the youth room with our dedicated teacher, Carol Feinberg.
During the week, you will find various opportunities for study. At the moment our God Sightings study continues to meet on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Pastor Jane. Beginning in the fall, there will be several other opportunities for study and small groups. Check out our newsletter, PEALS, for an update on our study gatherings. All are invited!

Whether you can bake, sing, speak, join us or pray for this important ministry, each gift is important. If interested, please see Pastor Jane or sign up in the narthex each month. It truly is more blessed to give than receive.
